What a morning! With three sets of teams about five minutes into their first game, the heavens opened and a freezing hailstorm poured down... and then sideways!
We all ran for the shelter of the clubhouse and as Kenilworth had made the 50 mile round trip we asked any players who still fancied playing after the storm to make up two teams to give the visitors a game.
Soon enough we were playing in sunshine. Though still chilly, it seemed only to encourage some exciting running rugby from both sides.
The games were played at great pace with no little skill, with both sets of players a credit to their clubs. Due to the conditions we did not keep a regimented record of the scores, but it is fair to state that Rhinos come out on top in each match, hence the scoring recorded above.
Well done to everyone today, the games were played in a great spirit!
Congratulations to Megan, who has the honour of being selected Player of the Day. Megan was chosen by Kenilworth head coach, who had no hesitation in his selection as he was very impressed with Megan's all round play and in particular her try scoring breaks!
Finally, thank you to Mark Burge for the photographs.
