The boys showed a fantastic appetite for the tackle, to complement their usual flair!

A Superb showing from the Rhinos this week against a strong and talented opposition from Kidderminster.

The 'Red' team got off to a slow start which saw Kidderminster take an early lead. They built on this and held a 0-2 lead at half time. A spirited second half performance saw the Rhinos push back, dominating play in the Kidderminster half. This combative performance was rewarded with try's and the game finishing 3-3.

On the other pitch the 'Black' team also went behind to early pressure, but gathered their composure to put more pressure on the opposing side. Fine tackling and asserted pressure lead to fine tries, one a fine team effort driving Nat over the line and the second a flying run from Harry Such, the game ending 2-2.

The second round of games saw the two Rhinos teams really hit their stride, a particularly pleasing aspect was how the teams responded to their coaches advice to structure the defence and attack.

'Reds', again masters in a great game of flowing rugby by two evenly matched teams. Good tackling and pressing from both teams again saw a hard fought match. Errors were forced by Rhinos, resulting in break away tries, along with as 'battling over the line' tries! This quality of strength was notably underlined by a 60m run from Myles with the whole Kidderminster team trying to bring him down, which they eventually succeeded doing a metre from the line! Though Rhino took full advantage of the gain to score from the quick restart pass. A great team performance with James Miles leading by example. Rhinos show their mettle to run out 3-1 winners!

'Blacks' hit the ground running in their second fixture, Coach Neil had requested more passing and was rewarded immediately with a great running try for Harry Such (his 2nd of 5 for the day!). Quick offloading from Mansel and Oscar gave centres Jacob and Danny more opportunities to run and Rhinos quickly took control of the game. Coach John had asked for more pressure on the ball; the boys responded by pressing hard, led by Lewis, and gradually wore Kidderminster down, resulting in a fine score when the away side were forced back over their own try line and then subsequently panicked into a mistake - for Lewis to pounce on the ball for a fine 'team try'. Nat and Jack were in superb form at the breakdown, and the Harry Jennings in fine fettle on the wing. Harry was encouraged to come in to centre from time to time and it was from this position he scored a fine solo effort from a free pass. Kiddi, much to their credit, never gave up and scored a couple of late tries; but Rhinos held on, preventing a late try with some determined defence on their own try line to run out 6-4 winners!

A fine performance by both teams! We are seeing improvements in all areas of the game and the boys should be very pleased with their day's work.

Well done Rhinos!
