kafc vs kewford eagles

Looking to follow up a streak of 7 unbeaten Kingswinford AFC had a few changes in the line up this week to add to the challenge of getting three points.

Despite this they pressed early on creating a headed chance for Debutant Ben Shepherd which narrowly missed the cross bar within the first 5 minutes. The 10 minutes following was a back and fourth from both teams dominating possession in the middle of the park

The breakthrough came in the 15th minute from Striker Tom Duckett who latched on to a perfectly placed low cross from Matt Bird, a well earned goal for there pressure.

As Kingswinford started to dominate the game they continued to press the Kewford midfield and retained possession well, after a well worked piece of play Brad Ashmore played the ball back to Matt Bird who played a short chip over the Kewford defender for a first time finish for Brad.

Just before the break Kingswinford cemented their lead from another great ball from Matt bird through to Liam Miller who beat the keeper to the ball taking it to round him and finishing from an acute angle.

The lads came in at half time still feeling fresh after their first half of football playing the game how they would want it it be played and went back out into the second half to continue business as usual.

Within the first 10 minutes they added to their lead from a ball out wide which was crossed into the box by Tom Duckett and finished back post by Brad Ashmore.

Shortly after kick off the Kingswinford lads pressed the Kewford defence to make mistakes, in the 60th minute a shot from Matt Bird was well saved by the Kewford keeper but to no Avail as striker Liam Miller latched on to the follow up to give a commanding lead of 5.

The game was played out confidently by the Kingswinford lads who enjoyed possession in the last 30 minutes. A late scare in the final minute from a Kewford attack was well saved by keeper Ryan Moorhouse who kept the Kingswinford Clean sheet intact.

Another great performance and great result, with many more to follow
