James Leigh popped up at the back post to give us the lead in the first half. In truth, the number of chances we blew in front of goal was a real worry, as we knew the home side were still in it going into the half-time break. As expected, their first real chance at the start of the second period made the game level ? — a lesson learned, as we should have been out of sight long before that. But this squad didn’t panic. We got back to our game, created a number of opportunities, and when it mattered most, Liam Delaney did what he’s done time and again — popping up with the winning goal. A huge win in tough conditions, but this is the sign of a good team: the refusal to give up and the ability to find a way to win every week. ?
