A BRACE from Jake Hawker and another from Calvin Camara was enough to give Knaphill their first League win of the season at Redding Way on Tuesday night (15 Aug).
The Knappers enjoyed a good spell of early pressure against Fleet Town, so it came as no surprise when Hawker coolly put the hosts ahead midway through the first period.
However, Fleet clawed their way back into the match through a 25-yard pile-driver - much against the run of play - to level the proceedings. And one soon became two when the visitors capitalised on some lackadaisical defending to take the lead 10 minutes before half-time.
Under the managerial guidance of John Cook and Jamie Daltrey, The Knappers had to wait until the 65th minute to pull level thanks to Camara's tenacity and eye for goal on the edge of the 18-yard box.
Not prepared to settle for a point, the Knappers lay siege to The Blues' goal and came close on several occasions, before Hawker slid in-between two defenders to poke the ball home from six yards late on to secure a 3-2 win.
Knaphill travel to the Channel Islands this Saturday (19 Aug) when they face Jersey Bulls in the Preliminary Round of the Emirates FA Cup.
