However, the opposition took early dominance and 10 minutes in after a relentless attack, Warrington scrambled through with a goal.
Knutsford quickly fought back with some swift interplay between midfields Charlotte Chew and Sarah Fielding through to centre forward Gill Lunt and her new wingers Jess Flack and Lily Wasilewska, but it wasn’t enough to hold off a further goal before half time.
After a motivating half time chat from coach Caldwell, Knutsford came out fighting and were determined to get back in the game. The game continued with some great presses upfront from new comers Rachel Sims, Katie Welch and Rosie Friscuolo.
Despite some tenacious challenges from defender Amanda Rees, Steph Roberts and Suzi Hough, Knutsford fell to 3-0 when the D was overloaded with Warrington’s defensive players.
After further pressure from Warrington, the final whistle blew at 4-0.
Man of the match was awarded by Knutsford to Georgia Allen, for some key tackles and much needed clearances in defense and the opposition awarded player of the match to our goalie Lucy White, no doubt for the number of photo worthy defensive deflections and dives!
