Following the club survey we conducted last year, the club we set out its vision and objectives for the medium term and these are now up on display for all to see in the clubhouse.

This season we have continued to move forward against our key objectives. Our ambition is clear: to establish two strong and sustainable senior teams, supported by a thriving Mini & Junior section that feeds into adult rugby. We are committed to growing overall membership across all age groups, and see this as a key part of the club’s future.We also aim to strengthen our connections with the local community and develop long-term relationships with sponsors who share our values and vision.

Alongside this, we remain focused on securing a permanent home that can act as a true hub for the club and the wider community. Financial stability is a priority, ensuring we operate in a fiscally responsible and sustainable way, while continuing to invest in player development and the long-term future of the club. In line with this, and due to the ongoing considerable efforts being made to secure a new permanent home where we can truly establish ourselves and build for the future, we recognise that our current clubhouse facilities are limited. We ask for the patience and understanding of our members in this regard, as the club is understandably cautious about making significant investments in facilities while we are actively working towards relocating and laying stronger foundations for growth.
Our senior section has enjoyed a particularly strong season. We welcomed eight new players into 1st XV rugby, adding fresh energy and depth to the squad. Just as importantly, the pathway from our Mini & Junior section continues to deliver, with 14 alumni featuring over the course of the season and 12 of them earning starting positions in the 1st XV. On the field, this blend of youth and experience helped secure a top-four league finish, alongside some standout performances, including two impressive away clean sheets against Altrincham Kersal and Wythenshawe.

Our Kasuals team continues to go from strength to strength, developing steadily and growing in numbers. They successfully fulfilled five fixtures this season, providing a fantastic and inclusive environment for players of all backgrounds and experience levels. True to the spirit of the team, there have been some memorable highlights along the way — including one player returning to the pitch after a remarkable 23-year absence, and a squad featuring a 64-year-old (although he may have lost count by a year or two). At kick-off, the team could proudly boast 24 working knees — a statistic we’re sure is under constant review. Most importantly, the Kasuals embody everything great about grassroots rugby: enjoyment, camaraderie, and a lifelong connection to the game.

Our junior section continues to be tremendously well supported, with playing numbers increasing steadily year on year. The ‘play with pride’ ethos is being woven into the fabric of the club from the ground up, and it is fantastic to see this reflected in the attitude and commitment of our young players. It is also especially rewarding to hear such positive and consistent feedback from parents on a weekly basis. Well done to Jonny Spencer our Mini and Juniors Chairman and everyone involved in the KRFC junior section.

This season can genuinely be described as a year of progress. We have strengthened our structure, expanded participation, and reinforced the values that make our club such an important part of the community.

Looking ahead, we are excited for upcoming events, including the club ball on 20th June, and we would urge you all to secure your tickets as soon possible and continue to provide the club with your vital support at such events. This promises to be a great occasion for everyone involved.

During the off-season, our working parties will continue to play an important role in maintaining and improving our facilities, and I encourage members to get involved where possible.

Finally, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to all our parents, players, coaches, and volunteers. Your time, effort, and dedication are what make this club what it is.
