Knutsfords 23/24 opener didn't quite go to plan as they slumped to a hotly contested (literally) defeat to Lymm Eagles on Saturday.
Admittedly a team short of experience with a lot of absentees was picked to compete against a tough and experienced Lymm side but the Knutsford team rallied led by stalwart Tom Copsey and Joachim Marques pulled together some superb plays where the benefits of a tough pre-season shone through.
Father and son combo Matt and Harry Beasley fronted up a strong scrum which set the platform for Alex Davies to score a well worked try in the corner after good work by flyhalf Tom Amanuel and inside centre Tom Lowe. Tom Lowe slotted the extras.
Lymm responded in style and scored a few tries of their own, for the rest of the game Knutsford only added 2 penalties from the boot of Tom Lowe but Lymm piled on more pressure and bagged the victory.
Knutsford travel to Altrincham Kersal this weekend in search of their first victory so all travelling support welcome
Final score Lymm 33 - Knutsford 13
