Ladybridge took on west lancashire premier league side Garstang in the 1st round of the Lancashire amatuer shield.
Ladybridge started well and had the best of the opening ten minutes but Garstang started to get back into it as the half wore on. The first half was a very tight affair with very little chances at both ends so the teams went in at half time at 0-0.
Ladybridge broke the deadlock early in the 2nd half when Monson finished off a fine move , Waugh picking out Monson who slotted the ball home from inside the box.
Garstang hit back on 60 minutes but Bridge restored their lead ten minutes later when Thorpe finished well after a good spell of possession.
Garstang started to push on and commit men forward but Monson put the game to bed in the final minutes from the spot after Edmo was brought down in the box after running clear.
A good game of football with both sides playing some good passing football at times.
