Lakenham Hewett v West Norfolk II

Lakenham returned to Hilltops this week aiming to bounce back from a disappointing defeat to Swaffham last week. West Norfolk boast a strong first team, so we knew their 2s would provide a well needed test.
Lakenham started and pretty much ended the game with full domination!! Strong runs from Michael Barber put Lakenham 2 tries up early on.
West Norfolk came back strongly, putting together some good phases however outstanding defending from Lakenham continuously curtailed all of the West Norfolk attacks. After a very average 15 minutes, Lakenham stepped on the gas scoring two more tries to secure the bonus point after 40 mins. One try was one of the greatest the crowd at Hilltops has seen for some time...Lakenham turned over a the West scrum, just outside our own 22.. neat passes from Chris Sheehy and Dorian Squires put Olly Mills in the corner for 75 metre try!!
The second half followed the same trend as before, Lakenham dominating with the ball in hand, Graham Cook opening up the West defence at will and Chris Sheehy kicking into the corners fantastically!!! Another highlight of the game was the penalty count, Lakenham gave away only a handful of penalties, which.. in comparison to double figures last week, was the best thing to see. In the second half there were further tries for James Cook who bagged a brace with strong running, Mike Barber finished with 4!!! Olly Mills bagged yet another beauty as well!! A Sheehy kick into the corner was chased down by Mills who dotted down!! It was a proud day for Lakenham, bouncing back from a difficult game at Swaffham and nilling the opposition. Another pleasing factor was the Lakenham scrum, who won a total of 5 against the head!!
