An Awesome 18/19 Season

By Alex Bunn

A summary of our season by resident media liaison Chloe Halliwell

Lakenham Ladies were delighted to finish the season with 207 points scored. An improvement of 180 points from last season. The points scored reflect the increase in games won over the course of our 12 matches.

The 2018/19 season has been a season full of roaring successes with astonishing recruitment and determination at training. The results speak for themselves, entering the season with an 89 – 5 defeat and finishing with a 31 – 7 victory.

Lakenham Lionesses have really got themselves on the map due to correspondence with Archant and a regular spot in the EDP. Also to BBC Radio Norfolk for airing conversations and interviews with our players.

It has been an interesting season with returning lionesses coming forward to rejoin the pride as well as an array of fresh new faces who have taken on key positions and really proved their worth in a squad growing from strength to strength. There has been real commitment to training with every player dedicated to improving their own individual performance as well as the performance of the team as a whole.

Lakenham has a bond unlike ever before with regular socials, emotional support, pushing through physical challenges and creating a real name for themselves in the season of 2018/19 which is sure to go down in Lakenham's history as a year of the team showing their worth, rebuilding and coming out of it roaring loud and loving the game.

“We aren't just playing for ourselves, we are playing for the whole village.”
