First Clean Sheet at Home
By Brad Davis
Lakenheath secured their first home clean sheet of the season with a comfortable win over their relegation threatened visitors. Taking the lead in the 2nd minute when Dean Grogan met Aaron Forshaw's fine free kick, the lead was doubled after ten minutes when Ryan Weaver was put through on goal and slid home for his 10th of the campaign.
The visitors came back into the match after this but rarely threatened the Lakenheath goal and only an offside flag stopped Sam Hawley increasing the home teams tally.
The second period was marred with controversy, in the 63rd minute Lakenheath keeper Dan Corston and the visitors Nkala exchanged words before Nkala was dismissed by the referee for violent conduct.
The game was very flat after this with Lakenheath controlling play and only bad decision making stopping the score becoming very one sided. A third goal was added by James McCabe, celebrating his birthday in style with 15 minutes to go.
Weaver hit the post and other chances were spurned as Lakenheath remained in 7th position in the table.
