Impressive Home Win
By Brad Davis
Heath secured an impressive win in this late season encounter with opponents who started the day 1 place above the greens in sixth place. A cagey opening ensued with both sides failing to really get going on an incredibly warm April afternoon. Norwich deservedly took the lead midway through the first period when James Page met a loose ball in the area and fired home. It wasn't long before parity was restored as a long goal kick from Frank Gammon was misjudged by the visiting defence and James McCabe expertly lobbed Asa Swatman from 25 yards out. After this Norwich remained the better side and created better chances without making a breakthrough, they were made to pay just before the break when Shaun Avis pulled away from his maker to head home McCabe's cross from 8 yards.
The second half was an altogether different affair with Heath stepping up their play to dominate proceedings, a third goal on 47 minutes set the tone as captain Ryan Sanders headed powerfully home from Aaron Forshaw's corner. Goals number 4 and 5 were both excellent passages of play with the 4th coming from top scorer Kelvin Enaro who drove a low shot beyond the helpless Swatman before Avis added his second of the match following a long build up, finishing well at the far post.
An excellent afternoons work for the Greens who were able to give a debut to U18 Reggie Parr during the second half.
