We have today been informed that our appeal against the sending off of Niall Cowperthwaite in the FA cup game at Morpeth has been successful. The FA have confirmed that Niall was wrongfully dismissed in the 40th minute with the game evenly poised at 1-1. From the resulting, incorrectly awarded penalty, Morpeth scored before going on to knock out our 10-man side 4-1.

The club would like to go on record with thanks to Club Analyst Dom Smith, and the admin team at the club for preparing such a professional and conclusive appeal, we are naturally disappointed that this now proven, incorrect decision, has had a major bearing on our involvement in this seasons FA Cup.

The club will be making no further statement on the matter.
