Dolly Ladies win league by 2 points

Lancaster City Ladies have been crowned Champions of the Lancashire FA Women's County League Division 1 North/West after being awarded the victory and 3 points against Kendal Town Women U18 Girls.

With the fixture being reversed and to be contested at the 'Mini Axe' as a means to get the fixture played, The Kendal side could not fulfil the fixture. Meaning The Lancashire Football Association awarded Scott King's side the 3 points.

The points meant Lancaster City Ladies have won the league over Whitehaven AFC Ladies by just 2 points.

Of course, you would want to win the League on the pitch. However if it wasn't for the run of games where they picked up victories in their last 9 League games, including a 3-2 victory over Whitehaven AFC Ladies, scoring 55 goals and conceding only 14. Then this League title victory could not be possible.

Kayleigh Young finishes as the League's top Goal scorer, finding the net an impressive 35 times in 13 games. Ahead of the Whitehaven pair of Ashleigh Mcallister and Megan Batey and Thea Mallett from Chipping Ladies, with our own Jody Campbell and Sarah Haslam further behind on 20 and 19 goals respectively.

Everyone at Lancaster City Football Club would like to congratulate Scott King, his coaching staff and players on winning the League in their first season back since re-formation.
