Hyde United
Hyde United sit in 2nd, just two points behind Gainsborough Trinity, though they also have two games in hand. Their defence has been the most impressive department of their team – they have only conceded 13 goals in the league this season which is the joint second-best record in the division.

In attack, summer signing Jack Redshaw, a player with Football League experience and who joined from Manchester rivals Ashton United has eight league goals for The Tigers this campaign.

They lost their last game, however, their first defeat in five games. It was a 1-0 loss at home to Matlock, their first home league defeat since late August (when they were beaten 1-0 by Ashton United).

Lancaster City
City put in one of their best performances on the weekend against Chester but left Wales with nothing to show for it. Sam Bailey scored his third goal in as many games, a flying, acrobatic volley, but Kurt Willoughby’s clinical finishing turned the tie around in Chester’s favour. His five goals has him second in the City scoring charts, one behind Nic Evangelinos.

Lancaster have been far from leaky – their 20 goals conceded is the best record outside the play-offs, but they have also only kept one clean sheet in their last 16, meaning one goal has not been enough to win games.

The last league game took Lancaster out of the relegation zone, and The Dolly Blues have at least one game in hand on the teams below, but points-wise they are only above the bottom four on goal difference, so each game is important for getting the club away from that end of the table.
