Bury AFC
The phoenix club of historic Bury FC, expelled from the Football League in 2019, Bury AFC have been rebuilding from the ground up since their inaugural season in 2020-21.
They began in the North West Counties League Division One North and were promoted to the North West Counties League Premier Division, the ninth tier of English football.

This is their first season competing in the FA Cup, and tomorrow’s clash will be their fifth game in the competition. They won 1-0 in their Extra Preliminary Round replay against Hallam, 2-0 against Widnes in the Preliminary Round, then 2-1 against North Shields in the last round.

Jack Coop, Chris Rowney, Anton Smith, Niall Cummins and Connor Comber have each scored a goal apiece in the cup this season.

Lancaster City
City will be looking to bounce back from a tough loss against South Shields in midweek, their first in six games. However, FA Cup spirits are high off the back of Joel Davidson’s dramatic goal in the replay of the last round which sent City through to the tie against Bury.

The Dollies have made the third qualifying round 25 times from 45 attempts, a success rate of 55.55%. The next round will take place on 1st October, should Lancaster progress.

Head-to-Head
City have never played Bury AFC – there’s a first time for everything!
