The highly rated youngster joins the Dolly Blues on a one month loan deal from National League side Halifax Town. Lavelle joins from the Shaymen after putting pen to paper on a professional contract in September 2023.
The 18-year-old midfielder has had previous spells in academies including Oldham Athletic and Rochdale before trialling for football league sides Hull City and Wigan Athletic. During his time in Yorkshire, Lavelle was sent on loan to NPL Division One West side Colne, where he valued and benefited from playing consistent football. As well his time at Colne, Lavelle featured against the Dolly Blues when they picked up all three points at Bradford (Park Avenue).
Lavelle has also been touted for his versatility. Traditionally a centre midfielder, the teenager can also be deployed as a centre-half or as a wing-back on either flank. This versatility is something Chris Willcock will be looking to utilise during his time at the Giant Axe with a first feature possibly coming this Saturday in the FA Cup first qualifying round.
The signing of Ted Lavelle is subject to league approval.
