Upon the release of the list, Jimmy Marshall said "I know most fans will always look to new signings in the summer and rightly so as you always need to freshen things up slightly and I think our summer recruitment so far has been really good. However I think the biggest job this summer was always going to be to tie down the existing players that have served us so well since we came to the club and performed so brilliantly last season.

Despite most of them having offers elsewhere from clubs with significant resources they have chosen to remain with us and I think that not only shows what we have in our dressing room but that they also believe in the project at the club and what trajectory we are heading in as we strive for constant improvement. I thank them all for their continued loyalty towards not only myself and staff but to the Football Club and its supporters."
