Radcliffe FC
On the opening game of the season, Radcliffe travelled to Warrington Rylands where they came away four nil victors courtesy of four first half goals. In the 2022/23 campaign, The Boro finished seventh in the league with 66 points. Saturdays performance shows that the Manchester based side are looking to improve on last seasons position.
The side have also introduced a surge of new faces to the Neuven Stadium, with a total of ten additions. The most notable signing being Jordan Hulme, following his arrival from Altrincham. The striker had previously played under current Radcliffe managers at Salford as well as AFC Fylde. The striker scored five goals in 30 appearances for Altrincham last term.
In two league meetings last season the points were shared on both occasions, but Lancaster City also made a further trip to the Neuven Stadium to play Bury AFC in the Emirates FA Cup second qualifying round replay as the two Manchester sides shared the ground.
Lancaster City
Mark Fell’s side were host to Stafford Rangers in the opening game of the season where they ran out two nil victors. Goals from Jake Connelly and Kyle Brownhill secured the victory for the Dolly Blues and Mark Fell was left feeling impressed with his side.
Mark Fell could look to alter his side for the journey to Radcliffe to lessen fatigue of his players and keep them fit. Possible changes could include the return of new recruit Jacob Holland-Wilkinson, as well as a first competitive start for Ackeme Francis Burrell. One man who will keep his place is young goalkeeper Lewis Forshaw. The teenager impressed hugely in his competitive debut for the Dolly Blues as he produced some crucial saves. The teenager is standing in for Andre Mendes who will miss his second game following a suspension on the final day of last term.
Lancaster City’s last win over Radcliffe came on the 29th January 2022. Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro opened the scoring the Radcliffe before goals from Niall Cowperthwaite and Andy Teague helped the Dolly Blues hit back and secure the victory.
