Ilkeston Town
The Robins have experienced a mixed start to the new campaign after winning four and losing four games this season. This start has the Robins well placed in seventh, and just outside the play-off positions. Last time out for Ian Deakin and his side was a one goal to nil victory over Basford United. A 62nd minute strike from the returning Zak Goodson secured the victory in Nottinghamshire.
After being founded in 2017, the Robins earned a seventh place finish in the Southern League Premier Division. This resulted in the side being transferred to the Northern Premier League Premier Division. The Robins are without their top goal scorer last season, Leroy Lita. Lita spent one year in Derbyshire where he scored 16 goals in 18 appearances. The former Reading, Middlesbrough and Brighton and Hove Albion striker now spends his playing days with Nuneaton Borough.
Lancaster City
The Dolly Blues continue their fine form heading into tomorrows fixture after dispatching Marske United four goals to one in the Emirates FA Cup second qualifying round. A first half hat-trick from Simon Grand and a bullet header from Andrew Teague resulted in Lancaster City’s unbeaten run stretching to eight games. The draw for the third qualifying round took place earlier in the week and Lancaster City will prepare to face league opponents Ashton United at the Giant Axe.
Mark Fell is without some key players for the fixture as Christian Sloan, Jamie Mellen and Nic Evangelinos recover from their injuries. There could also be a possible return for Jacob Holland-Wilkinson who has also spent some time on the sidelines. This is the first meeting between the Dolly Blues and the Robins under the current guise.
