Bamber Bridge:
Last season, the Briggers finished third in the league under the direction of Jamie Milligan. The third place finish allowed the South Ribble side to face up against Gainsborough Trinity in a tie they won 5-3 on penalties after a one all draw in normal time. The Brig faced Warrington Town in the final and fell to a one nil defeat. Jamie Milligans side came into the new season without top goal scorer Fin Sinclair-Smith as he departed for Marine earlier this year.
Last time out for Bamber Bridge saw them defeat Bradford Park Avenue three goals to nil away from home. Harry Scarborough opened the scoring before the hour mark before Billy Bould and Ewan Bange added a second and third before full time. That emphatic result placed Bamber Bridge 15th and one place below the Dolly Blues on 28 points.
Lancaster City:
Lancaster City’s unbeaten run stretched to seven games following a goalless draw with play off hopefulls Worksop Town. Chances were few and far between for both sides as adverse weather conditions played a big role in the fixture. However, Andrew Teague and Simon Grand will feel as though they should have nicked the points in the closing stages. The result put Lancaster City 14th in the table on 30 points.
Interim managers, Teague and Grand, are hopeful of a return for Nic Evangelinos following his long absence with a broken leg. The Christmas period is a busy period for football so changes could be made to freshen up the squad. Lancaster City will host Atherton Collieries on New Year’s Day to kickstart 2024.
