Guiseley
Mark Bower's Guiseley have started the season strongly, currently sitting 5th in the Northern Premier League Premier Division Table. Six wins and two draws sees them on 20 points, with 2 games in hand on the teams around them, this is due to their continued participation in the Emirates FA Cup. As this is written the Lions are the NPL Premier's only representatives in the proper rounds (Gainsborough Trinity have a replay against Boston United).
Will Longbottom is streets ahead of his Lion's counterparts in the goalscoring stakes, with 11 to his name already, almost double the second highest scorer in Leo Farrell who has 6 to his name, it was the aforementioned Longbottom who scored the winner against Kidderminster Harriers in the FA Cup Fourth Round Qualifier.
Guiseley currently sit 3rd in the form table (Last 6 matches) winning four and drawing one, the defeat coming away at even higher flying Worksop Town.
Lancaster City
The win away at FC United has got the Dolly Blues back into winning ways after defeats in the league to Hebburn & Leek and Clitheroe in the FA Trophy. Chris Willcock said he was "looking for a massive response" and got that with the Dolly Blues first win at Broadhurst Park. (Previous wins came at Gigg Lane and Bower Fold).
Lewis Mansell will be pushing to start again after his heroics at the weekend and match winner Lewis Coulton who Willcock said was "very unlucky not to have started" on Saturday may have forced his way into the starting XI.
A win for the Dolly Blues would see a rise into the play-off positions and more crucially at this stage, with more points on the board.
