Hednesford Town
The Pitmen are currently going through a period of change, sitting 2nd in the table they parted ways with manager Gavin Hurren and replaced him with with former Southampton goalkeeper and Eastleigh manager Kelvin Davis. His first game in charge was last Saturday, a 5-0 defeat away at Hyde United a game he said "were probably beaten in every department". A result which saw them fall a point behind league leaders Hebburn Town, whilst playing a game more.
Don't let the last result lure you into a false sense of security, they are up there for a reason. With the meanest defence in the League, conceding just 26 times in 30 games. Davis will be looking for a response so his side's promotion bid doesn't hit anymore bumps in the road.
Lancaster City
Jimmy Marshall was pleased with the victory over Leek Town, our first win in 4 games. The gaffer described the performance "more like us", so more of the same on Saturday required.
Debutants Ed Nolan and Jonny Brindle equipped themselves to life in the Northern Premier League, both putting in excellent performances and Brindle popping up with an assist too.
Jim Craig, Matty Clarke and Aaron Bennett got valuable minutes in the 8-2 victory for the Under 23's on Tuesday night as Jimmy Marshall has more or less a full squad to choose from. Jack Wright is still out with his ankle injury.
