Player/Coach James Quinn on Langley Fc Pre-Season preparation before the season starts

"It has been a difficult start to the pre-season because of Covid-19. Whilst we have experienced some players missing from training, we have also seen a couple of new faces join us.
We have played two games to date, the first game we lost 2-1 againt a strong Berks County Fc. We played three 30 minute halves, the first 30 minutes we dominated and were in control but we struggled in creating chances. As the game continued fitness was a big factor for both teams, with all three goals coming in the final third; two of the goals we conceded were from silly mistakes but we played a good opposition and were organised which considering this was the first game we have played as a team was really positive and encouraging to see "

Going into the second game, we played a young side against Windlesham United Fc and won 3-2. During this game we tried out a different formation to the previous one, as we felt it was not suited for our players in the squad. We were dominant again in the very beginning, towards the end of the game though we looked tired and conceded, so fitness is a factor at the moment. On reflection of third game we have confidence that we have good foundations to build on and with a few extra additions we should be good in shape"

Thanks to our ground share with Slough Town FC at Arbour Park we have been able to attract some qaulity players and we are looking to announce two or three of these new players after Saturday's game.

Our remaining fixtures see us go againt Pundit Fc; then we have British Airways from the combined counties league on Wednesday evening, followed by an away game on Saturday 5th against AFC Spelthorne and a further away match with Hazlemere Sports Fc on Tuesday the 8th.

All of this will set us up us nicely for the season start on the 12th of September!!

The Coaches and the Management team are all working diligently behind the scenes, with the lads working hard towards the goals we have set.

We are all buzzing for the season to start and we will be encouraging the local community across Langley and Slough to cheer us on.

Heres to the start of the season and welcoming you to our matches as supporters!!!

Many thanks
Player & Coach
James Quinn
