Scott Bright on how Langley Fc are nearly ready for the big kick off

Joint Manager Scott Bright on Pre-season so far...

"Our pre season was always going to be difficult with the effects of coronavirus and a rebuild of the squad compared to last season.

We have brought in a nucleus of older, experienced players who have the mentality and quality to help us improve on last season.

Our friendly match against Berks County saw a 2-1 defeat, yet we won 3-2 against Windlesham utd. Friendlies are about getting minutes into players legs rather than results and these games have shown us lots of positives, but has also highlighted where extra work is needed in order to be ready for the season.

Today's game we won 6-2 v Pundit Fc, this was acheived through the addition of more quality to the squad and taking aspects of training into the game and it paid off with great success.

We have more friendlies to come in the next few weeks which will be more challenging, however the squad is beginning to take shape nicely. The lads are beginning to understand how we want to play and the commitment and work ethic that is needed to go with that.

We are extremely pleased with our under 18s who are competing in the Southern Counties League; under the experienced Arron Samules as Coach and Manager. This is providing an opportunity for this group of talented young players to progress onto Senior football.

A big thanks goes to Pete Mills and Daniel Wood of WN Thomas Metal recycling Slough, for making the ground share agreement possible. Our youth & Junior teams are the future of this club and what a great ground for them to enjoy watching our senior team.

There are exciting times ahead, but we will continue to keep our focus on putting in the hard work needed to create success. Stay tuned as we are hoping to announce a few new influential signings very soon

We look forward to seeing a good crowd on a Friday evening at Arbour Park when the season starts and your support is needed!!
