Finally the U18’s were able to get their first game played since the loss to Preston Lodge on 6th November & as expected they were very ring rusty but as the match wore on they started to get rid of the cobwebs & run out convincing winners.

There were a couple of changes from the starting lineup of the PL game with Bradley Moffat & Chris Hall in the forwards & Ryan Collins & Sean Haddon staring in the backs. The match was stopped for a injury to a Livingston player straight from the KO after being tackled by Chris”censored”Dickson resulting in the player leaving the field with a very serious looking nose injury but this seemed to invigorate Livingston & for the first 15/20 minutes Lasswade were rarely out of thier own half with the penalty count against them rapidly rising which included Livingston being heldup over the Lasswade line with less than 10 minutes gone & 5 minutes later a penalty attempt at goal by the Livingston stand-off drifted wide of the right post. The Lasswade defence was showing through during this period & the Livvy S/O was again held up over the line after making a break but this time the penalty went to Lasswade & the lines were cleared. From the resultant lineout inside the Lasswade half the ball was passed out to the backs were Mark Wilson gave a inside pass to the charging Dickson who rampaged into the Livvy half but the ball was then lost by the supporting Rory Anderson but a steal against the head from the resultant scrum alowed the ball to again be passed along the line to be scored by replacement Ciaran Lamont,Andy Hall missed the conversion
Lasswade 5-0 Livingston
Lasswade were continuing to getting penalised by the referee at the breakdown & with his patience running short Captain Bernie was issued with the final warning before he would use the bin which ultimatly happened with less than 10 min’s of the first half left Rory was penalised for not rolling away at the breakdown so off he went for 10 mins on the sidelines. This didn’t thankfully affect lasswade to much & indeed scored a second try after a kick into the livvy 22 was marked by their scrumhalf who tapped & passed to their S/O who missed touch & the loose ball was fielded by Bernie who got it to Dickson & he ran it into the corner, the conversion was again missed
Lasswade 10-0 Livingston
H.T
Lasswade continued in the second half were they finished the first & scored after 11 minutes after a loose ball in the Livvy half was kicked through by Bernie in the 22 before Sean Haddon got another well controlled kick before flopping on it to score try number 3,once again the conversion was missed
Lasswade 15-0 Livingston
3 minutes later Andy Hall finally got on the scoreboard after previously missing the 3 previous conversions he converted his own try to increase the Lasswade score
Lasswade 22-0 Livingston
Lasswade were starting to step up the tempo now & Ciaran scored his 2nd of the day & 5th of the match this was in turn converted by Bernie.
Lasswade 29-0 Livingston
Another couple of minutes later after Andy Hall kicked a inch perfect kick into the right corner from the resultant penalty lineout & clean take by Bernie at front jumper & Steven Hunter finished of the trademark Lasswade take & drive, the conversion was once again missed this time by try scorer Hunter.
Lasswade 34-0 Livingston
With less than 6 minutes to go Hunter scored his 2nd & Lasswade’s last try of the afternoon which was converted by Andy Hall
Lasswade 41-0
Livingston got the last try of the afternoon to get themselves on the scoreboard with a unconverted try.
Lasswade 41-5
Final Score Lasswade 41-5 Livingston
Man of the Match
There were a few options here with Chris Dickson having a good game including scoring 2 tries & both Rory Anderson & Mark Wilson standout for the backs with their tackling & indeed if the Livingston standoff had been wearing a Lasswade shirt he would have been a contender but this weeks MOM goes to
Bradley Moffat
