This week’s tie is a trip to a special place in Central history, Lightcliffe Academy, to face Yorkshire Terriers. We look to build on what was an amazing tournament day last week, where we won the whole thing and averaged 8 goals a game. It is quite a well-noted fact that the Blues have historically struggled to transfer small-sided success into 11v11 games, but we will look to break the curse this week on Matchday 8 of the 2025/26 Leeds Community Football League campaign.
The Herakles Player to Watch is Leigh Houghton, who will be pulling on the blue shirt for the very last time this week as he moves away to South Africa. The 19-year old attacker will be looking to sign off with a bang, hoping to add to his tally of 8 goals and 2 assists this season.
Many will remember our first ever competitive game was a fixture at Lightcliffe which produced unmatchable memories. Since then, the side has changed significantly, the atmosphere is less casual and players are more driven towards achieving success, which can be looked at as a good or a bad thing.
