all leek needed was a draw to win.

A squad of 12 players represented Leek at the Lichfield Festival
5 Games were played, 7 a side,
Game 1
Leek were up against Burton, this game was full of excellent team play with big hitting tackles from Noah Reaney, Joshua Nadin, Sam Heath, Kinney Critchlow and Theo Bettany. Burton were the first to take the lead through a well worked try
0-1. Leek put up a great show of strength to keep this big strong Burton team from extending their lead It was nearly half time before Leek levelled the score through Joseph Meakin’s Determined run 1-1.
After the break Burton piled the pressure on Leek’s defence.
The second half was similar to the first with both teams making some excellent runs only to be stopped by equally brilliant tackling, Leek made a few changes with Lewis Sale, George Bailey, Harry Byrne and Logan Robinson, soon the extra pace from Lewis and Logan helped open up a gap which Sam Heath ran clear to score 2-1.
Final Score Leek 2, Burton 1

Game 2,
Leek Faced local rivals Trentham; it soon became clear that they were a much smaller but quicker team, not unlike Leek. What followed was a very exciting game with Harry Byrne taking on the scrum half role, Oliver hall was in the thick of the play with his almost trade make runs taking the ball into contact, it was from one of these moves that Joshua Nadin scored, 1-0
Half Time
From the restart Leek put pressure on their opposition and were soon on the score sheet again this time it was George Bailey powering his way through, 2-0
Trentham kept having a go at Leek but the defensive qualities of Leek kept them out. Louis Torr put in some fantastic tackles and again Joshua Nadin spotted his chance to extend the lead, 3-0.
Leek made changes again, from the change Logan Robinson showed Trentham how quick he was and scored a very pleasing try, 4-0. Trentham seemed to loose heart as Sam Heath ran in another try for Leek 5-0

Game 3.
Coventry based Sicilians were the next opponents for Leek. A well organised team with a mixture of speed and strength. The game was very tight and again some fantastic team play from Leek kept the opponents out. The tackling was superb and some of the passing moves from Leek showed. Soon Leek took the lead through Kinney Critchlow, 1-0.
The Sills showed some of their own class with a fantastic move to level the score
1-1.
Half time.
After the break Leek stepped up the pressure and forced Sills into making mistakes Theo Bettany picked up on a loose ball and powered his way through the opponent’s defence to score 2-1 offload a superb ball for Sam Heath to score
3-1. Theo then turned from scorer to provider making a fantastic run through the Sills defence only to offload a superb ball for Sam Heath to score 3-1.
Final score Leek 3 Sicilians 1.

Game 4.
The host club Lichfield were the next team to play Leek. This game was not quite the test of the previous game. Leek soon took control and found them in front through Noah Reaney1-0; Leek soon extended their lead trough Lewis Sale 2-0 and went in at half time looking in control.
Half time.
Soon after the break Joseph Meakin Found space and ran in Leek’s third try 3-0.
Strong defensive play from Noah Reaney, Joshua Nadin, Sam Heath, Kinney Critchlow and Theo Bettany kept Lichfield out.
Leek sealed victory with 2 tries from Kinney Critchlow 5-0
Final Score Leek5 Lichfield 0.

Game 5.
By this point only Leek had not lost a game, with their next opponents Wolverhampton only loosing 1 game it set up a real nail biting game, all leek needed was a draw to win.
The strongest team was picked for Leek and they were superb Josh Nadin opened up the scoring for Leek 1-0, but Wolverhampton were a great Defensive team. Leek tried to extend their lead but some great tackling stopped Leek.
Half time.
Leek did not want to finish the day with a draw so all stops were out as Kinney Crichlow extended the lead 2-0.
Wolverhampton could not get out of their own half as Leek turned the screws again, Kinney Crichlow making it 3-0.

The Game was won when Theo Bettany Charged through to complete the score Leek 4 Wolverhampton 0

Leek Under 9s Lichfield champions.
