Leek Under 15 girls march on in the cup

Leek welcomed Burton in the 4th round of the cup. We played on the Wall Lane pitch for the first time and took time to adjust to the slope. Leek's ball retention in the rucks was spot on but the odd few dropped balls lost key possession. Leek opened the score with Holly running in the first of her 3 trys. Abbey Taffe scored a fine opportunist try fielding a loose kick and outpacing the cover defence. Morgan ran amock all game winning ruck ball and scoring 3 great trys. Izzy scored the try of the match for me, spotting a gap and a dummy pass did the rest. Holly converted 5 of the 8 trys for a solid win and performance from Leek. The girls are really starting to gel now and with players coming back, great performance Shannon, we are building a nice squad. The backs look solid in defence and dangerous in attack Our scrum is improving and the rucking is far better than earlier in the season. Well done girls. Burton never gave up and score 2 fine trys. The majority of their team is Under 14 so our experience helped us. Burton are a very talented squad and we look forward to seeing them soon.
