Leek Saints emerged with a crushing victory over a disheartened Bloxwich on Saturday

Bloxwich arrived at Leek with only 12 men for the clash and in good sportsmanship the Saints loaned the away side 4 men to even the numbers. From the off the Saints looked sharp and powerful using a solid platform from the forwards to produce clean ball for the backs to work there magic and with some strong running breaks from Steve Mottram and Nick Parmer opened up the Bloxwich defence, this coupled with good support from the forwards points were soon on the board for the Saints. In the scrums and line outs the Saints pack worked hard to give scrum half Neal Kinson clean ball and with some disruption in the line outs from Darrell Evans the opposite pack and scrum half were constantly on the back foot cleaning up messy ball which the Saints capitalised on. The start of the second half saw a lapse of concentration from the Saints and Bloxwich crashed over the line for a well deserved try which they converted to give them 7 points. This woke up the home side and from the restart the Saints dominated there opponent's with everyone digging deep and putting in 100%, strong play from Dave Kennaway and Simon Coleman pressurised the Bloxwich side and pinned them down. Tries came flooding in from forwards and backs Andy Poole and the young Jo Cooper were on hand to convert.
Leek Saints Captain Matt Leather said everyone on the pitch contributed to a well deserved win over a good opposition, the lads played with spirit and good discipline and the score reflects that.
