Stockport piled on the pressure


Leek Lions welcomed Cheshire Champions to ester chem park today.
It was very windy but the pitch conditions were perfect for a great game of rugby.
This game was one that we thought would test the boys!
18 players were available to play for Leek so rolling substitutes were made.
Leek lined up with forwards,
Harry Byrne, Logan Robinson, Jason Hill,
Louis Torr,Devan Pearson.
Joe Meakin and Noah Reaney as half backs,
Sam Heath, Josh Nadin Barney Richardson Danny Day and Kin Critchlow in the backs.

The game started badly for Leek as they let the visitors score within the first minute 0-5
Leek rallied and battled hard against a very well organised opponent.
Leek started to use their substitutes to try to ensure that every one had some play.
Stockport opened up a gap in the score 0-20 Leek worked really hard to stem the Cheshire team running riot.
With minutes to go to half time Leek grabbed their first of the day 5-20.
The second half started with Leek resorting back to the original starting 12 players.
From the kickoff Leek were on the up and in this stage in the game some of the best rugby was played.
Stockport were well drilled but picked up injuries forcing them to change players.
The half played out with all the boys giving it their all but Stockport were to strong.
Final score Leek 20 Stockport 60.
The score was line was not reflective of the quality of play from the Leek boys. Well done!
