The Staffordshire Ability Counts League is happy to announce the continued running of its Disability Football League for the forthcoming season 2013/2014.

The league, the only one of its kind in the County caters for both Adult and Junior players. The junior sections are at the u12 & u16 age groups as Disability Football can play within a 4 year age banding.

The league is a PAN Disability League however Wheel/Powerchairs and Blind Footballers can be catered for within impairment specific teams due to the format of their respective games.

The league runs monthly on a Sunday and all fixtures are played at a central venue in Staffordshire thanks to funding provided by The FA. If there is enough interest both male and female leagues can be run.

“The league provides all footballers with a disability/impairment in and around Staffordshire the opportunities to play football locally like their mainstream counterparts” stated Jamie Leaning, Secretary of the Staffordshire Ability Counts League. “The emphasis of the league is to have fun in a competitive environment and to show that football is inclusive to all.”

Leek Town Tigers having reached the U17 age group will play in the adult age section.
