From the proposed league table being announced for this season’s 2026/27 NPL Premier Division, we decided to explore how many miles The Blues will have to travel this season in order

Starting off with the furthest distance that Leek Town will have to travel to this season, it is Workington AFC that will be our longest away day. Located in Cumbria, The Blues will have to travel 168 miles to reach Cumberland Sports Village, which is now the new home for The Reds as they prepare to host us. Can Josh Brehaut and his men repeat the result of the last game of our 2025/26 season where we took three points from the side ?

In our second longest distance to travel in the league, we have newly promoted side Redcar Athletic who are located in North Yorkshire and have 145 miles separating themselves and the Blues. From being promoted after becoming champions of the NPL East League, The Steelmen will plan to give Leek Town a tough affair at Green Lane.

Standing in third place are Stockton Town who are based in County Durham. Having 142 miles separating The Anchors and The Blues, this makes the side the third longest journey. After missing out on promotion due to losing against newly promoted team Hednesford Town 2-0 in the semi-final, The Anchors will hope to give The Blues quite the tough affair at the MAP Group UK Stadium in their attempt to secure promotion.

Just two miles below Stockton Town are Whitby Town who are located on the North East coast of Yorkshire, and have a distance of 140 miles separating themselves and The Blues. Finishing in 17th position with just one point above the relegation zone, The Seasiders will plan to have a better campaign ahead of themselves for the NPL Premier 2026/27 season.

Next up, we have Cleethorpes Town who are located on the East coast of Lincolnshire and share 108 miles between the club and the Blues. With a consistent 9th place finish, Craig Rouse and his men will look forward to the battle between themselves and us next season.

Dropping down to a distance of 83 miles, we have Lancaster City, located in the county of Lancashire. Finishing in reaching distance of the play-offs last season, could The Dolly Blues battle for a play-off place next season ?

Based in Leeds ( West Yorkshire ), we then have Guiseley AFC who have a total of 82 miles which The Blues will travel. Hosting us at Nethermoor Park, The Lions will have their hopes up towards becoming vic-roarious over Leek Town next season.

After that, it is Gainsborough Trinity who are another club based in Lincolnshire and play their games at the KAL Group Stadium. With a total of 74 miles between both clubs, it is another long journey which Josh Brehaut and his squad will make next season.

Bamber Bridge find themselves just below The Trinity as the club located in Preston has a total of 62 miles which The Blues have to make their way towards. Finishing in 12th position last season, Jamie Milligan will hope to lead his side into a higher finish next season.

Next up is Quorn FC, who find themselves laterally moved from the Southern Premier Central League (subject to appeal) with 57 miles separating Leek and the Leicestershire side.

From being promoted into the NPL Premier Division after winning the play-offs in the East Division, Emley AFC have now forced Leek Town to make their way up to West Yorkshire next season as they prepare to take on The Blues. With a total of 52 miles away from Leek Town, the newly-promoted club are next in line within the distance of our club.

Shortening down the distance between us, are Bury FC who are another promoted club entering our division after winning the West Division with 90 points. Based in Greater Manchester and maintaining 43 miles between us, The Shakers will look forward to the battle between us next season, as Anthony Johnson and his army will hope to achieve back to back promotions which will lead them into the National League North.

Just below them with 39 miles are FC United of Manchester who are another club based in Manchester. Missing out on promotion at Broadhurst Park due to a 2-3 play-off semi final loss against Warrington Rylands, The Red Rebels are another club who will aim for promotion this season, however they have Josh Brehaut and his men standing in their way.

Sharing the same miles that separate both clubs and Leek Town are Ilkeston Town and Warrington Rylands. Starting off with the Derbyshire based side, Ilkeston Town finished in 11th position with Tristram Whitman leading the side out into their next campaign. Moving onto Warrington Rylands, The Blues narrowly missed out on promotion in the play-off final against Hednesford Town, as they lost 5-4 on penalties after honours were even in the game. In the 2026/27 NPL Premier campaign, Rylands will have high hopes of securing promotion this time around into the National League North.

Dropping into 38 miles separating themselves and the F Ball Community Stadium, are Avro FC who secured their promotion into our tier after winning their play-off final against Stalybridge Celtic in a six-goal thriller at The Vestacare Stadium. Based in Oldham, they are another club who will host Leek Town around the city of Manchester in another league affair.

Suffering with relegation on their final day of the 2025/26 National League North season, Alfreton Town find themselves in the NPL Premier Division as they prepare to take on The Blues. With 37 miles separating the Derbyshire based side and Leek Town, it is another journey South which will find Josh Brehaut and his squad travelling towards.

Dropping just one mile below are Warrington Town and Ashton United. Warrington Town join The Robins with 36 miles separating themselves and Leek Town, as the Cheshire based side force The Blues to make the trip up to The Cal Delivery Stadium. Finishing in 14th position, The Yellows will hope to have a better campaign ahead of themselves. Moving onto Ashton United, the Greater Manchester based side have plenty of league rivals located around them as it marks another club which lead Leek Town to travel North, preparing to take on The Robins

Focusing on another side who have suffered with relegation on the final day of their 2025/26 National League North season, we have Curzon Ashton who are another Greater Manchester based side. The Nash have 35 miles which separate the club and Leek Town, as they get ready to host us at the Tameside Stadium. After dealing with a shocking season defining loss at the end of their last campaign, can they start their redemption in the NPL Premier Division ?

Having the shortest distance between Leek Town, we have Hyde United who are based in Greater Manchester. Having just 29 miles separating their club and The Blues, it will be an enjoyable journey to make in the attempt of picking up three points on the road for Josh Brehaut and his men.
