ANTHONY BUNN JOINS LEEK TOWN TEAM

We are delighted to announce that Anthony Bunn will be joining us as our first-ever Community & Marketing Manager, from October 2nd.

Anthony joins us to develop and progress our marketing and business development offering and has worked extensively within Staffordshire on those key areas, along with writing on and for a wide range of national and local football media outlets - with some possibly knowing him from his work as the Editor of DUCK magazine.

As a football club, we are also looking to build even stronger ties with the local community too, and Anthony will be at the forefront of that.

Chairman Jon Eeles said “Anthony is a key acquisition, he has unique background & experience that encompasses education, business, marketing and sport. He and his youngest son are regulars at the F Ball Community Stadium and he has been championing both Leek Town & the town of Leek for a number of years, and I know he is relishing this opportunity. He has already established a series of meetings and strategies in preparation to hit the ground running, and we hope that this is a real sign of intent from us to progress the football Club even further.”

Anthony Bunn commented "Sport is my main love – and in recent years that has been reinvigorated by watching Leek Town with my youngest lad, and also watching him play cricket for Leek. I live just outside the town, and have seen how it has grown and progressed over the years to become one of the very best around. I honestly think many don’t value it as much as they should. There’s a real buzz about the town of Leek – as someone on the outside, I can say that it’s a great place to visit, and I want that build on that and forge the very best connections between football Club & town, surrounding area, community & local businesses. Football is all about connection – as someone who has played and watched sport for over five decades, it’s about feeling a part of a community. I want Leek Town to be at the forefront of Leek life, and that’s why I want Leek Town connecting with the community as much as possible & the community supporting the Club as much as possible – and I’m looking forward to speaking to anyone who feels the same way."

"Love Leek, love Leek Town: That’s what I want everyone within the town and further afield to feel.”

Anthony will be working closely with the Leek Town Board and stakeholders to maximise usage of the stadium, build positive connections & relationships with local educational establishments, businesses, organisations, and to bring further revenue, resources and expertise to the football Club."
