It is with disappointment that the Club is announcing the departure of popular joint Assistant Manager Peter Ward.

After several recent discussions Peter has informed the Club that he will be moving on with immediate effect, and is considering his options after receiving several approaches since the end of the season.

Josh Brehaut, Leek Town First Team Manager said “Peter has been a great help to me, particularly when I took the First Team Manager role, and is very popular member of the backroom staff. He leaves with my very best wishes & I genuinely wish him all the very best going forward.”

Leek Town Chairman Jon Eeles, added “I was hopeful that we could retain Peter this season, but after several discussions we have not been able to reach an agreement. On a personal level Peter feels more like family than a member of staff and I know everyone at the Club will join me in wishing him the best in whatever he chooses to do going forward. He will always be welcome at the Club and no doubt we will see him at a game soon."

Peter has had many roles in several Clubs in non-league football over the last 30 years including three spells with Leek Town.

Peter was Assistant to Phil Wilson in 1995, before taking over as Manager in 1996 and leaving in 1998. He then rejoined as Assistant Manager to Lee Casswell in 2013 before leaving in 2014 to take the Managers role at Kidsgrove Athletic. The most recent spell saw him join Neil Bakers backroom staff in 2018.

In addition to Peter leaving, the Club has also received the resignation of Steve Pardoe, who has been with the Club for the last three seasons as Kitman & Recruitment support. The Club places on record their thanks to Steve for his efforts over this period.

The Club is now looking to recruit a Kitman to their backroom staff as they enter the Northern Premier League Premier Division next season - interested parties should email the Club HERE
with details of their suitability for the role.
