Roberts returns to the club after originally signing on loan from League Two side Macclesfield Town in March 2012.
He graduated from the Silkmen’s youth team to be handed a contract in the summer of 2010 and came off the bench twice in the final two games of the 2010/11 season to earn another 12-month contract.
The tall midfielder enjoyed a successful loan spell at Harrison Park scoring five times in ten starts and signed for the Blues on a permanent basis after being released by Macclesfield in the summer.
Only a few weeks ago Leek boasted a squad of 22 players but, after exiting both the FA Cup and FA Trophy following success in both competitions, Blues’ boss Lee Casswell now finds his numbers depleted.
Mark Ruddock, Christian Millar and Rob Stevenson have already moved on to new clubs and they have been joined in the exodus by Ashley Woolliscroft who has been confirmed as the new player/coach at Leek CSOB.
But now Casswell has been dealt a double blow with both Ross Davidson and Karl Charlton advising the club that their availabilities will be seriously reduced due to work commitments.
Both players missed the away victory over Mickleover on Saturday with Davidson now struggling to combine football with work whilst Charlton has moved to London with his job.
