With the proposed season-long loan of Mitch Husbands from Worksop Town breaking down last week, Casswell has boosted his strike force by signing prolific marksman Michael Lennon (pictured0 on a one month loan deal from Hednesford Town.

Lennon began his career as a trainee at Middlesbrough before moving to the North Midlands to take up a teaching position.

After spells at Conwy United, Colwyn Bay and Spennymoor United, he went on to enjoy spells at Newcastle Town, Kidsgrove Athletic and Nantwich Town.

Lennon joined Hednesford in May 2012, and whilst there he went on to chalk up over 200 goals in his non-league career.

Casswell has also moved to add more cover at the back with the signing of former Macclesfield Town defender Michael Thomas who has rejoined the club from Northwich Victoria.

Thomas initially joined the club in August 2011 on a three-month loan deal from Macclesfield Town. He then returned to the Silkmen and made 10 first team appearances before being released at the end of the season.

The following season he joined Blue Square North side Colwyn Bay but rejoined Leek in October 2012. He left again to sign for Northwich Victoria prior to the start of the 2013/14 season but came back to Harrison Park for a third spell this week.

Finally Casswell has signed winger Angelo Errico who played in a pre-season friendly for Leek last summer against Crewe FC.

Errico has played most of his football locally for Biddulph Town, Stone Dominoes and Alsager Town.

Meanwhile, Joe Evans has returned to Alsager to get more games whilst Ryan Brown’s availability is still limited due to work commitments.
