After a comfortable 5-0 win in the previous round against Sporting Khalsa in the FA Cup, The Blues travelled to Victoria Ground after being drawn against Bromsgrove Sporting in the next round, a somewhat tougher task.
Josh Brehaut brought Alex Hurst and Zak Emmerson into the starting eleven as well as loan signing Cullen Meadowcroft from AFC Fylde.
It was a cagey start for The Blues after a ball over the top led goalkeeper Misciur to handle the ball outside his box, leading to the first card being handed out just inside three minutes.
Shortly afterwards, another dangerous ball from the hosts went into the box and caused trouble for The Blues as it went over Misciur, but they eventually managed to get it away from danger.
The first big moment of the game arrived in the 24th minute, when Jacob Towns was deemed to have tripped up Lamin Barrow in the area, leading to the referee pointing to the spot. Repeating his exploits of the previous week, Misciur managed to dive the correct way as he pulled off a magnificent save against the former-EFL forward Jamille Matt.
Just four minutes later though, Bromsgrove Sporting broke the deadlock after inform forward Lamin Barrow drove into space dribbling across the area and released a powerful strike into the bottom left corner to beat Miscuir.
Pressure kept coming towards the Leek Town backline as the Rouslers attempted to add a second goal with crosses into the box, but the Blues did well to keep out any additional danger which would see them edge away from their FA Cup journey.
The first dangerous attack from Leek Town came in the 36th minute, when a free-kick inside the box from Lucas Weir led to multiple strikes on goal from Yellow shirts, but neither managed to head into the direction of Breeden. Ex Blue Man Mountain Ollie Harrison threw himself at the ball and blocked the goal bound shot.
With neither side creating any danger after the Leek Town attack, The Rouslers took the 1-0 lead into the tunnel as we reached the interval
the Blues would need a huge change in performance if they wanted to turn the game around and get their entry into the next Round of the FA Cup.
BROMSGROVE SPORTING 1 - LEEK TOWN 0 HT
Getting underway for the second half, there was a positive sign of play when Alex Hurst nearly got through on goal after pressing the Bromsgrove backline, but Breeden was quick off his line to smother the ball into his hands
In the 55th minute, some great buildup play led Bromsgrove Sporting to cross an inviting ball into the box from the left hand side, but an excellent defensive block from Ben Hockenhull denied them a clear shot on goal
Just two minutes later, Misciur pulled off another great save as he palmed away a fierce strike on goal from Joe Doyle-Charles
Despite neither team creating any danger throughout the next twenty minutes, there were quite a few bookings from both teams as ; Harrison, Shaw, Heywood and Weir were all given yellow cards for separate incidents
In the 79th minute, Heath broke down the left and was body checked by Harrison, inexplicably the referee waved plain and Bromsgrove cleared deep in Leeks left a mistimed header from Heywoodt led Barrow to run through on goal, and release a strike on which deflected to Jamille Matt at the back post, as the experienced forward made no mistake in finding the back of the net.
Just three minutes later, the lead was nearly tripled after a powerful strike on goal from Adam Jasper forced Misciur into action following a foul not being given on Ollie Heywood
Approaching the full-time whistle, The Rouslers were close again after a swirling strike went narrowly wide from goal.
Despite multiple substitutes, 3 head injury incidents and an issue with crowd safety the referee indicated only 5 minutes of added time.
In the 92nd minute, an extraordinary strike from distance from Connor Heath came out of nowhere to halve the deficit for Leek Town, as they had a few minutes to try and cause some FA Cup magic.
It was Connor Heath again who attempted to catch Breeden off his line, but his effort on goal just drifted wide with Breedon beaten.
Unfortunately, that was the final action of the game with Bromsgrove Sporting entering the next round, leading Leek Town FA Cup coming to an abrupt end.
