DO THEY MEAN US? WITTON ALBION FC
This Saturday (25th November 3pm) sees Witton Albion heading to the F Ball Community Stadium in what will be a competitive league game against a really well-known club. The league games are coming up thick and fast as we hurtle towards the festive period and new year, and the lads will need all the support that they can get against our Cheshire opponents

The True Blue Army will assemble at?
It’s at home, Saturday 3pm kick off, with the Blues Bar and Blues Bites open as usual - and we’d love to see as many Blues fans there as possible

We will playing in our home kit if Blue shirts, white shorts & white socks

How much to get in?

  • Adult £10
  • Concession £7
  • Under 18 £3 (with full paying Adult or Concession)
  • Under 8’s Free (with full paying Adult or Concession)

You can buy your ticket in advance HERE

What are they known as/Nickname(s)?
Albion, The Albs

Their website?
https://www.wittonalbionfc.co.uk/

How are they doing?
As I write this, Albion lie in 13th place in the league, having won 5 and lost 5 of their first 13 matches

Their main man?
Joe Duckworth was their leading scorer with 5 goals, but joined Bury last month. Albion will be now looking for goals from Tom Pope, someone who needs little introduction to local football fans. He’s known primarily for his successful time in a Port Vale shirt, where in his second four season stint at Vale Park he eventually became the club’s second highest ever scorer and their best post-war

Their gaffer?
Jon Macken is currently manager of Witton, and will be known by many for his excellent career as a centre forward for the likes of Man City, PNE, Crystal Palace, and Ipswich Town. He also gained one international cap for the Republic of Ireland in 2004

6 Of The Best – six things you probably didn’t know about Witton Albion

  1. The first records of a Witton Albion F.C. are in 1887
  2. Liverpudlian comedian John Bishop played for the club during the late 1980s
  3. Other notable players for Albion include Geoff Horsfield, Nicky Maynard, Mike Whitlow, Dennis Viollet, and Chris Nicholl
  4. The club's main rival was always Northwich Victoria, and their game on Good Friday 1949 saw 11,290 attend the derby fixture
  5. A Sainsbury's supermarket now occupies the site of their old Central Ground
  6. Albion’s U Lock It Stadium is one of the biggest in the league, and holds in excess of 4,500
