Match Preview - Hebburn Town
Leek Town suffered a 4th consecutive league defeat following their last-minute loss to Lancaster City. The Blues couldn’t convert their early chances and were punished for it in stoppage time where a long throw from Sam Bailey found its way into the path of Joe Amison who managed to strike it into the back of the net. The loss places Leek in 17th place, however if results were to go their way they could find themselves 10th in the league by the end of this upcoming fixture.
Hebburn Town similarly lost their last game on Tuesday night. Facing Ashton United, the Hornets conceded two first-half goals and were unable to recover, ultimately leaving empty-handed.

How are they doing?
So far this season, the Hornets are on 15 points from 11 games claiming 4 wins, 3 draws and 5 losses. Most recently they faced off against Ashton United where they failed to score and succumbed to a 2-0 defeat away from home leaving them in 13th place, however they are only two points ahead of the blues so it is certainly all to play for on Saturday. At home, Hebburn have been relatively strong, earning just over half of their total points at the Trustmark Group Stadium. Out of five home fixtures, they have lost only once, while winning two and drawing two. However, the Hornets are currently winless in their last three games, so Leek will be eager to capitalise on their recent struggles.
Their Main Man?
Olly Martin is certainly a force to be reckoned with. A product of Sunderland and Newcastle United, Olly has bagged 4 goals for the Hornets so far this season. Known for his blistering pace, he made a name for himself in Whitley bay scoring 12 goals in one season for the Seahorses before getting his move to Hebburn Town in 2019. He was a crucial part of there 2020 FA Vase triumph scoring the 82nd minute winner off of the bench in their dramatic 3-2 final. Since then he’s been scoring goals frequently for his club, even against Leek.
Their Gaffer?
Daniel Moore, Hebburn Town’s current manager, is a former defender with a strong non-league pedigree, having played for clubs like Shildon, Celtic Nation, and Spennymoor Town, where he captained the side to FA Vase glory in 2013. After a successful managerial spell at Shildon, Moore took charge of Hebburn Town ahead of the 2022–23 season and quickly transformed the club’s fortunes. Under his leadership, Hebburn won the Northern Premier League East Division in 2023–24, earning promotion, and also lifted the Durham Challenge Cup. Known for his disciplined, high-intensity approach, shaped by his background in the army. Moore has built a winning culture at Hebburn, with an impressive win rate and a clear vision to keep the club progressing both on and off the pitch.
