The waiting is over for Leek Town’s first home game, as the Pitching In Northern Premier League West side welcome Greater Manchester outfit, Trafford FC.
After a solid preseason, the Blues kicked off the league, last Saturday, with a tough test at Warrington Rylands, eventually going down to a 2-0 defeat, despite creating a number good chances including hitting the Rylands cross-bar and having a couple strong penalty shouts turned down. Leek Town manager Neil Baker will now look to get a result at home against Trafford FC.
As for Trafford FC (who were 10th in the NPL West league at the time of the 19/20 curtailment, the last representative campaign), they have recently brought in two key loan transfers, with Aidan Roxburgh (Chester FC) and Curtis Miller (Altrincham) joining the Greater Manchester side.
Trafford FC gained a point in the NPL West last Saturday with a credible 1-1 draw at home against Colne FC with striker Mike Burke getting their goal.
The Blues have a mixed record against Trafford FC, altogether playing seven times with two wins, a draw and four defeats.
Last time we met at home was 2nd March 2019, Trafford FC came out on top with a 3-1 win, with 2 goals from Liam Ellis and a goal from Kamar Moncrieffe, Aaron Bott got the Leek Town goal. The crowd at Harrison Park was 391.
