Leek Town under 10's continued to impress with another great display, beating Cheadle SMU with a comfortable victory in the second game.

Having played so well in the first game, Leek Town showed how much they have developed over the last month, with yet another impressive display in the second game.

It is always hard to dominate a game totally, then have to go out and try to do it again, but that is what the under 10's did.

Spike McDonald was a virtual spectator for the second game running in the Leek goal. Ollie Patterson started at the back with the ever improving Freddy Burgess. Sam Bateman and Brad Grindey paired up in midfield with a new front pair of Hugh Phillips Bland and Callum Brough.

It took Leek a few minutes to settle down with a few players playing different roles, but once they clicked it was a pleasure to watch.

Brad Grindey hit a wonderful volley from outside the box showing great technique, which was only bettered by a stunning save from Jamie Torr, who managed to tip the ball over at full stretch as the ball flew towards the top corner, just brilliant from both players.

Sam Bateman then showed another piece of great skill when he opened the scoring. A corner was half cleared to Sam on the edge of the box, he shaped to hit it first time, but rolled his foot over the top of the ball past one player then glided past a second player before shooting powerfully past the Cheadle keeper.

Leek made a couple of subs as Sam Bateman and Freddy Burgess where replaced by Charlie Paton and Tyler Heath.

Callum Brough chased everything up front and played some good passes to players out wide but just could not get on the end of some inviting crosses.

ht 1-0

Freddy Burgess returned at the back with Tyler Heath, with both putting in some impressive interceptions and some great passes from the back that just set the standard for the second half.

Jacob Goldstraw and Tom Grindey again looked lively up front as Cheadle just could not live with their movement and passing.

The chances where coming and going as Leek searched for the comfort of a second goal.

Tom Grindey then got the all important goal when he nodded in from close range after a shot from Charlie Paton, who again impressed in a more advanced role. It might have gone in anyway but Tom showed his goal scoring instincts, by making shore by diverting it in from the a yard out.

Callum Brough was then sent on again up front and Ollie Patterson came on at the back as Leek looked to close out the game.

Ollie Patterson showed what a good display does for your confidence has he intercepted a through ball and dribbled it out from the back before sending Leek on another attack down the right.

A great display from every player as Leek's young players have started to put everything they are working on in training into the games and look like they are enjoying their football.
