Leek Town U15 girls made a slow start and conceded an early goal at home to Gornal girls when a looping shot went over the outrushing Leek goalkeeper.
This gave Leek a wake-up call with both Lucy kelsall and Alice Naden both coming close to giving Leek an equaliser. Parity was then restored when the Gornal keeper could not hold onto a shot from Elise Skelding which finished in the back of the Gornal net.
Leek then won a free kick just outside the right hand edge of the Gornal penalty area after Rosie Atkinson who was on a long run down the left wing was cut down by a Gornal defender. The free kick was taken by Isabel Wretham who went for goal and curled the ball into the top right hand corner of the Gornal net to make it 2-1
Amber Stanway who was performing well in midfield then put a ball through for Alice Naden who finished well to make it 3-1 for Leek.
Gornal did not give up though and another shot from distance finished in the back of the Leek net to make it 3-2.
Kirsty Ryder then came on as a substitute for Leek following a two game absence through injury and quickly latched onto a through ball from Emma Smith and produced a thumping shot to make it 4-2
Half time Leek 4-2 Gornal
The second half started with end to end play with Charlotte Bromley having to make some last ditch tackles and clearances to keep the Gornal strikers out.
Leek then took the game over and should have added to their tally but spurned several good chances before Lucy Kelsall went round a defender to slot the ball home to make it 5-2.
It was then all Leek but several more chances were missed before Alice Naden scored late on to make it 6-2.
