Leek Town scored 3 good goals against Wyrley Pumas and could easily have hit 10 if not for Wyrley's excellent keeper and several missed opportunities.

Leek Were dominant from the first whistle of this game and produced 3 good chances in the first 5 minutes with both Kirsty Ryder and Alice Naden having shots narrowly wide of the goal and Katie Maya having a good effort saved by the keeper.
Amber Stanway was again strong in midfield and feeding the forwards very well. Chloe Gerrity and Lucy Kelsall were having good runs down the flanks and it seemed to be only a matter of time before Leek opened the scoring. The Wyrley keeper was proving hard to beat but also the Leek forwards fired wide of the mark on two or three occasions.

Both Alice Naden and Katie Maya have been selected for this years U16 County squad and Wyrley were finding the ability of both of them very difficult to deal with.

Wyrley did have a half chance on 20 minutes which was saved by Leek keeper Hannah Austin. On their next attack Leek forced a corner taken by Isabel Wretham from which Elise Skelding opened the scoring with a headed goal 1-0 Leek.

Wyrley then went on the attack but Emma Smith and Charlotte Bromley combined to clear the danger.

Half time 1-0 Leek.

Leek went on the attack from the start of the second half but just could not make all the pressure pay. Amelia Synowiec and Rosie Atkinson came on for Leek and both produced some good play.

Becky Rothwell picked up the ball in midfield and ran at the Wyrley defence producing a shot on the edge of the box which beat the Wyrley keeper to make it 2-0. From the next Wyrley attack they had their best chance of the game but the players shot hit the crossbar.

The ball was then passed through to Katie Maya who went round a defender and fired a shot into the corner of the net to make it 3-0 to Leek.

From the restart Wyrley had a two good attacks with Mollie Shaw and Rosie Atkinson having to make last ditch tackles to prevent one on one with the Leek Keeper.

The remainder of the game was played out with Leek mainly on the attack but they could not add to their total.

full time Leek 3-0 Wyrley pumas.
