Leek Town were comfortable winners in the end against a much improved Vale side, but had to work hard throughout the game to secure all 3 points

Leek Town started well and had Vale pegged back in their own half for the first few minutes. Lucy Kelsall, Elise Skelding and Kirsty Ryder all had early efforts wide of the target.

Katie Maya on a run then weaved around 3 vale players but could not get enough power on her shot to trouble the keeper.

Vale then produced a couple of attacks the first of which the Leek defence cleared and the second forced a good save from Leek keeper Hannah Austin.

Alice Naden then turned a Vale defender and got a shot away which was saved by the keeper.

On the next Leek attack Alice Naden broke free again and this time found a shot to beat the Vale keeper. 1-0 Leek.

Half time Leek 1-0 Vale Juniors Congleton.

The start of the second half was more Leek pressure with Vale defending well and trying to hit Leek on the break. Leek's midfield was playing very well with Amber Stanway breaking up the Vale play and Katie Maya attacking the Vale defence and also supplying the Leek Town Forwards with good chances. Both of Leek's speedy wingers Lucy Kelsall and Elise Skelding were running around the Vale back line and supplying good crosses.

Leek won a corner which was met by Kirsty Ryder who for the second week in a row scored with a good header.

Vale immediately came back into the game and on their next attack managed to get a close range shot on goal to make it 2-1. Vale then did have one more good chance one on one with Leek Keeper Hannah Austin who made a very good save.

Leek attacked and Lucy Kelsall ran free and slotted the ball past the Vale keeper to make it 3-1 to Leek and take the pressure off.

On the next Leek attack Katie Maya ran past three Vale defenders and produced a shot which found its way into the Vale net to make it 4-1 to Leek.
