Leek Town recorded their biggest win of the season at Hednesford with both Alice Naden and Katie Maya scoring a hat trick each.

On a windy Saturday afternoon at Hednesford Leek Town were attacking right from the off and 5 minutes into the game Lucy Kelsall broke free and unselfishly played in Alice Naden to open the scoring for Leek.

On 11 minutes the same two players were involved again when Alice Naden rounded a defender only to fall as the second defender challenged her, even on the ground she managed to get the ball to Lucy Kelsall who shot past the keeper to make it 2-0 to Leek Town.

Hednesford were struggling to get a foothold in the game with both Kirsty Ryder and Amber Stanway seeming to win everything in midfield.

Hednesford resorted to long range shots but Leek Keeper Hannah Austin dealt with them easily even in the windy conditions.

Elise Skelding was again running the length of field on the right going past players with her pace and produced some excellent crosses, one which found its way into the back of the net to make it 3-0.

Becky Rothwell was also very powerful down the left side and was unlucky not to score on a couple of occasions.

Hednesford had their best spell just before half time with Emma Smith and Charlotte Bromley both making good tackles to prevent a shot going in. On the next Hednesford attack the ball was blocked by Rosie Atkinson and cleared by Isabel Wretham. Mollie Shaw worked hard at left back and used her pace to set Leek on the attack again.

Half time Hednesford 0-3 Leek

Katie Maya and Chloe Gerrity were introduced for the second half and both had virtually an immediate influence on the game. Firstly Katie Maya played an excellent through ball through to Lucy Kelsall who made no mistake scoring her second and Leek's fourth.

Then Chloe gerrity won the ball down the left and got it through to Alice Naden who ran through to score to make it 5-0.

Shortly after the restart Kirsty Ryder won the ball and passed to Katie Maya who scored from the edge of the box 6-0 Leek.

It was now all Leek and they were playing some of their best football of the season. Amelia Synowiec made a good challenge and the ball broke to Alice Naden who ran right through the Hednesford defence to complete her hat trick.

On the next Leek attack Alice Naden put Katie Maya in and she ran on to score her second and number eight for Leek.

It was Kirsty Ryder who attacked next for Leek but she was fouled just outside the box. Isabel Wretham stepped up to take the kick and placed it out of the keepers reach with a great strike to make it 9-0.

The best goal was saved until last when Katie Maya weaved past two players and from an angle of 30 yards bent the ball around the keeper and into the top corner with a powerful right foot strike to complete a very impressive second half hat trick.
