3 valuable points for Leek Town in this West Midlands Regional Women's League Division 1 fixture.

Leek Town started the game very strongly with the first few minutes all being played in the Tamworth half. Five minutes in Leek won a corner which was taken by Isabel Wretham and met by Kirsty Ryder on the near post who headed in to open the scoring for Leek. Tamworth tried to attack from the restart but some excellent defending first by Mollie Shaw and then by Centre backs Emma Smith and Charlotte Bromley ensured that Tamworth could not get a strike on goal. On the next Leek attack a goal mouth scramble resulted in a Tamworth defender putting in her own net to double the score line. Leek continued to attack and Amber Stanway combined well with Shannon Moores to find Katie Maya who rounded a player and shot but it hit a defender on the line.
Tamworth then pulled themselves together and brought a good save out of Leek goalkeeper Hannah Austin.
Kirsty Ryder had to leave the field through injury and was replaced by Charlie Awde at right back who made some really good interceptions and played forward to Leeks midfield and strikers. Alice Naden then turned a player and fired a fierce shot just over the bar.
Tamworth then got themselves back into the game making it 2-1 on 30 minutes and then had a good spell adding another before the break to go in level.
Half time 2-2
The second half started with both teams trying to attack and 7 minutes in Leek gave the ball away which allowed Tamworth to attack and Leek were punished when the Tamworth striker slotted home to make it 2-3 and Leek were behind for first time in the game. Shannon Moores then supplied a good pass to Alice Painter who had been introduced by Leek after half time, she rounded her player on the right hand edge of the 18yd box and fired a great shot over the keeper and into the back far side of the net to make it 3-3. The Leek players were now all visibly lifted and went onto the attack winning a corner. Izzy Wretham took the resultant corner which went direct into the goal to put Leek 4-3 up.
This time Leek Town were determined not to Let the game slip and Katie Maya increased the lead to 5-3 scoring from a free kick on the edge of the box. The Leek defence then had some more work to do and the back four of Awde, Bromley, Smith and Shaw all defended really well to limit any chances. Leek Town then Brought on Emily Boon on the left wing and she proved to be a real problem for the Tamworth defence down the left. Kelly Porter was also brought on up front and looked sharp. It was in fact Elise Skelding who was having a really good game again who picked the ball up and ran at the Tamworth defence before passing to Kelly Porter in the box and she neatly side stepped her defender and shot low into the corner to make it 6-3 to Leek.
