LADIES KEEP 100% LEAGUE RECORD GOING WITH 3 MORE POINTS

Leek applied the pressure from the start and got early rewards when Rhian Morris found Katie Gibbons who finished well to put Leek one up 6 minutes in.
Another good move on the next Leek attack with Paris O’Connor finding Liv Mountford who turned and shot well but just the wrong side of the Worcester post.
Worcester then had a long range effort but straight into Leek Keeper Beth Cottrell.
Leek scored their second when a Mountford shot hit the crossbar and rebounded to on running O’Connor who controlled the ball well and fired home.
O’Connor had two more efforts fly just over the Worcester crossbar.
Morris was next on the scoresheet running through from midfield and being met by the keeper who smothered the shot. Morris then managed to hook the ball into the net whilst being on the ground.
Worcester then played some of their best football of the game and got their rewards when a good move was finished well to bring the score back to 3-1 just before half time.

The second half started with Leek again pressing high up the pitch. Michaela Lockett was found by Chloe Brown and Lockett ran half the length of the pitch with the ball before having her shot blocked with a good sliding challenge by the defender. Mountford with a speculative effort then hit the bar again. The goal of the game came when attacking from left back Emma Smith combined with Mountford before hitting a left foot looping shot which beat the keeper and looped into the back of the net from 18 yards to restore Leek’s three goal advantage on 54 minutes.
Leek were now having their best spell of the match and Mountford made it 5 for Leek in the 59th minute with a good finish. Two Minutes after the restart Alice Painter found Mountford again who smashed the ball home to make it 6-1 to Leek.
Worcester to their credit kept battling well and played some good football and the Leek defensive unit worked hard to keep them out.
Mountford hit the Worcester crossbar for third time late on in the game but Leek added no further goals and Worcester defended well in the last quarter of the game.
