Well what a start to the new year for Leesbrook RUFC............... The morning of the game we had 2 very late drop outs and 3 no shows which left us with only 11 players, thats right 11, but that still didn't stop the lads from traveling the 60 mile trip to face North Hykeham Rugby Club. As we arrived in high spirits with lots of banter knowing full well it was going to be a fun afternoon. 2.15pm arrived and kick off! so the 11 rebels of Leesbrook were ready for their longest game to date in the history of the club.......... knowing full well it was going to be a tough afternoon..........
With 11 players v 15, the score and game was always going to be pretty much one sided, I'm not going to tell you the ins & outs of the game, but what I will say is this. The brave Leesbrook 11, stood thier ground for the whole of the 80 minutes and even played the second half with 10 players due to an injury, but once again that didn't stop us from playing and may I say give North Hyekham a lot to think about in patches of the game! So the positives of todays game. 11 soldiers from brook turned out against the odds and enjoyed them selfs.
